They've already banned smoking in cars with children and have made it possible child abuse charges. And in California ANYthing that a police officer deems "distracting" from kids to cell phones to eating or drinking can get you pulled over and ticketed. There are so many nanny laws in California you can breathe without someone telling you how to do it or else. Which is why we left, that and the extreme high cost of living there! I fear it will only get worse with Dems ruling the fed government now. But we'll see. Look to California for the future of Nanny laws. I agree that it's a bad idea to smoke around children but you can't pass enough legislation to make some people smart. For me it all started when they passed the first law requiring seat belt use. And that doesn't address the danger of country roads between West Virginia and Colorado; nor does it address Bostonian drivers.
