Way to brush off a hostage crisis.
I’m sure Captain Phillips’ family is touched by the high level of concern demonstrated in this video and the President’s previous statements on this subject.
Oh, wait…there aren’t any previous statements. Just sayin’.
Apparently he was not willing to disclose details of the rules of engagement that were being formulated for the situation. Hindsight is 20/20, it was quite tense and now may be a prelude to another “mini war”?
Obviously it would be a terrible idea to disclose operational information. I think short statement acknowledging the situation expressing support for the captain and confidence in the outcome would have been appropriate.
